A special december only offer in our new Rattle Store

Rattle releases have won NZ Classical Album of the Year three times over a six year period.

Te Ku Te Whe, the defining album of Maori instrumental music, was awarded a gold disc for sales in New Zealand.

Rattle artists’ compositions are performed and/or recorded by Kronos Quartet, Michael Brecker, Evelyn Glennie and The BBC Scottish Orchestra.

Big respect to Rattle, a record company which has been releasing New Zealand recordings ...beyond the regimented lines of classical and contemporary boxes for some years now.

For news, events, free stuff & belonging:

Not a classical, 'world music', or a jazz label, nonetheless Rattle presents artists from all of these streams.

The discs often feature unique instrumentation. From the densely textured guitars of Gitbox, through the ambience of Taonga puoro on Te Ku Te Whe, the hand-made percussion of From Scratch, Dan Poynton's 'gently' prepared piano, and John Psathas' greek folk instruments scored within his View From Olympus concerto.

Inspired by the contemporary labels of the northern hemisphere, Rattle was established to bring new music from Aotearoa, New Zealand to a wide audience.

Welcome to Rattle music.
